Children of Mah’Khal

Children of Mah’Khal

The Thousand Year War brought relentless destruction to the Orc tribes of the north. The intense blood rage that coursed through the veins of Orc warriors was world renowned and their tribes were exploited as mercenary attack dogs of almost every side of the war. The spoils of victory rarely fell into the hands of the Orc warriors and after generations of service to outside armies, the Orc nation erupted into civil war and genocide.

Centuries of bloodthirst was brought to an end when a God known as Mah’Khal appeared to the Orcs and promised salvation. Rage and violence were subdued and replaced with solitude and prayer. The ferocious warriors melted their spears into shovels and erected mountain temples, determined to atone for their sins through quiet worship.

After hundreds of years of contemplation and prayer from his followers, Mah’Khal has returned, making demands that threaten to unhinge the pacifism they worked so hard to achieve. Is Mah’Khal testing the devotion of his followers or has something changed?

Mechanics

The Children of Mah’Khal are undergoing a powerful transition. Devoted to a pacifist lifestyle, the Orcs are experts at deflecting aggression. However, ancient ferocity is reawakening inside the Orcs blood, leading to uncontrollable aggression. This transition is reflected in the Children of Mah’Khal by shifting between offensive and defensive statistics and powers depending on which color square the unit resides in. Paying close attention to how you position your units can change their entire approach to controlling the battlefield.
