The Archeologists of the Scarlet Sands

Small teams of Archeologists from the Kyn Dynasty routinely traveled to the Scarlet Sands to excavate the many ancient ruins that lay beneath the desert in an attempt to understand the lost wisdom of their predecessors.

It was one such excavation that unearthed the magical substance known as Aether and soon after, its power became widespread knowledge. The Kyn Dynasty sought to exploit Aether for all it was worth. This did not sit lightly with the Archeologists, who wished for nothing more than to research its potential. They alone knew that the true power was contained inside the ancient relics buried deep beneath the Aether Wells.  

Armed with the knowledge that no others possess and powerful artifacts of the ancients, they fled the Kyn Dynasty to the Scarlet Sands and sought protection from the native tribes of lizardfolk. Though the Archeologists claim to only be searching for knowledge, the ferocity with which they seek out and defend the Wells may indicate otherwise.

The Archeologists of the Scarlet Sands are not brash. They prefer to focus their attention on Aether Wells and wait out their opponent until the moment is right to strike. To reflect this, the Archeologists utilize a number of different strategies to lock down the control of a well and slowly build up their power through a mechanic called assemble. These are expensive but permanent abilities that your units can unlock through the accumulation of Aether.
